| Systema Technologies aims at providing ICT solutions and applications needed to enable the healthcare sector, including the care for the elderly, become more efficient and effective. Systema aims also at designing and developing solutions according to the “Design for All” methodological approach and assistive tools and services oriented to the specific end user group needs (e.g. Tools and Services for the Blind, Deaf etc). |

| Experience/Expertise |
Systema Technologies during the last years has participated, as partner and Coordinator as well, in R&D projects focused on the development of assistive tools and services using state of the art technologies for the disabled and especially for the Blind and Deaf. The developed ICT applications are aiming to support the end users in different aspects of life such as education, mobility, employment etc.
Systema has also participated in the National Funded Project HIPPOCRATES-MST, the main result of which was a digital system for the early detection and classification of breast canceric microcalcifications. This system has been used and tested during a pilot use in university clinics and private hospitals.. |

D-SIGNS |

D-SIGNS is a project to implement an online training system for sign language in the workplace, mapped to Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), to be made available in British, Irish, Czech, Greek and Cypriot Sign Languages.

HIPPOCRATES-MST |

The project concerns the development of a digital system for the early detection and classification of breast canceric microcalcifications. The system is named Breast Hippocrates (Hippocrates-mst) and is perfectly capable of competing similar software currently available in European and International market.
Hippocrates-mst system is under continual evaluation and improvement. Medical specialists participated in the research conducted for the development of the system, and kept involving during its development cycle. Hippocrates-mst was used and tested during a pilot use in university clinics and private hospitals. Hippocrates-mst research team and the medical staff of the hospitals were in close cooperation.

PROKLISI |

The EQUAL Project "PROKLISI" intended to embrace a set of actions to proactively anticipate newly arising exclusion and inequality conditions for the Target Groups of People Facing Disabilities (PFD) and PFD with additional inequality conditions due to immigration or drug addiction. A vocational training environment for the blind people was developed via the exploitation of virtual reality technologies, as well as an innovative application for the mobility support of people with sensorial disabilities (deaf and blind). This application was based on the portable wireless devices’ technologies (Personal Digital Assistants - PDAs). The PDAs were used in order to assist the navigation of the deaf and blind people in the buildings.

SYNENNOISI |

SYNENNOISI is an educational platform integrating electronic linguistic resources of the Greek Sign Language (GSL), along with 3-D avatar and animation technologies in order to provide the means to construct and maintain educational material in GSL. The platform addresses to the deaf population in order to cover the presently enormous needs in respect to educational means and material as far as this specific group is concerned. A second user group the platform is addressed to, is the one of hearing learners of GSL as a second language.

| FP7 promising opportunities |
In the new horizon of potential collaborations that will be nurtured by the upcoming FP7 programme, Systema Technologies is investing considerable resources for building new sound partnerships with pertinent industry stakeholders, established research centers, large companies and university departments.
Systema Technologies is interested in unfolding technology opportunities for improving healthcare as well as for supporting people with disabilities and the ageing population in self-managing different aspects of their life. Systema is particularly interested in exploring the potential of wireless sensors (including medical sensors), digital augmentation of local spaces enabling sensors, mobile technologies, digital home technologies, context-awareness technology, intelligent proactive computing technologies, command and control interfaces and personalised and adaptive AI agents to embed “intelligence” into the living environment, both at home and outside, but also the potential of state-of-the-art of ICT in the development of innovative Computer Aided Diagnosis Systems. |
